There is a myth about humanity that is like a toxin that we’ve collectively agreed is okay – a belief that greed is human nature. We are taught survival of the fittest.
However, as Bruce Lipton points out in Gaia TV’s Inner Evolution series, we were taught wrong. Nature doesn’t work via competition; it works via cooperation. And the only reason people resort to greed and hoarding is because of a human fable that says, “There isn’t enough,” and “More for you means less for me.”
It’s a story of Scarcity. And it simply isn’t true.
Enter the Gift. Gifting and generosity are human nature, not greed. Yes, a small number of people may operate through greed. Still, if we understand that they are operating out of scarcity rather than abundance (despite the billions they may own), we can be compassionate instead of critical. Gifting is natural, yet we are taught to give in an unnatural way.
